Journey to Phoebe:
4/23/15-leave Grand Rapids at 11:20am EST

Arrive to Chicago at 11:20am
Leave Chicago at 1pm Central time

4/24/15- Arrive in Beijing at 3:15pm

4/25/15-free day, get settled, get some groceries

4/26/15-drive to Tongzhou Orphanage and meet Phoebe, meet the orphanage staff, meet the waiting children, and have Phoebe in our arms forever

4/27/15-Finalize our adoption. She will be a Brockway!

4/28/15-

5/3/15-Fly to Guangzhou, China

5/4/15- Phoebe will get her blood drawn to test for TB

5/6/15-8:30 am- go to the U.S. Consulate for a swearing in ceremony.

5/7/15-receive Phoebe's visa from the U.S. consulate. Take a train to Hong Kong

5/9/15-Fly from Hk to Japan
Japan to Denver
Denver to Grand Rapids, home at 10:02pm

5/10/15-BEST Mother's Day EVER, with our 4 kiddos!

Journey to Malia:
5/19/11-Leave Muskegon, Michigan at 6:05am

Arrive in Chicago at 5:54am

Leave Chicago at 10:32am

5/20/11-Arrive in Shanghai and spend night. The Kauffmans will meet us at the airport (we hope:)

5/21/11-Take train from Shanghai to Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province (about an hour train ride). Staying at the Hangzhou Hotel

5/22/11-Free Day

5/23/11-Meet Malia at 9am!!!! (Forever in our arms)

5/24/11-Register adoption at Civil Affairs Bureau (Where we finalize the adoption)

5/25/11-Visit the Hangzhou Orphanage

5/26/11-Sightseeing tour to Xihu

5/27/11-Get Malia's passport, Fly to Guangzhou Province. Staying at the White Swan Hotel

5/28/11-Get Malia's visa photo, medical exam, tb test

5/29/11-Sightseeing tour to Chen Family's Temple

5/30/11-Get tb test read

5/31/11-Go to US Consulate, Oath-taking ceremony

6/1/11-Get Malia's visa, Leave for Hong Kong by train, spend night in HK

6/2/11-Leave Hong Kong. Direct flight to Chicago. Arrive to Muskegon, Michigan. Forever home with our family of 5. When we land in Chicago, Malia will be an American citizen! Our dear, little immigrant.

Journey to Phoebe:
12/16/14-Log in date with Wasatch

1/9/15- 2nd Letter of Intent Submitted

2/17/15-LOA/letter of acceptance

2/18/15-i800 sent to immigration

3/4/15-i800 and Supp 3 (RFE) approved

3/16/15-Received GUZ number from National Visa Center

3/17/15-Filled out Phoebe's visa application (DS-260)

3/18/15-Received email from NVC saying that paperwork has been forwarded to U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou, China

3/19/15-the rest of the paperwork was dropped off by our agency rep (Article 5)

4/2/15-Article 5 paperwork picked up and sent to Beijing

4/9/15-TRAVEL APPROVAL!

4/10/15-Consulate Appointment confirmed. Flights booked!

4/26/15-Hug day (Phoebe forever in our arms)

5/6/15-Consulate Appointment

5/9/15-Reunited with all 4 of our kiddos

5/10/15-BEST Mother's day EVER!!!!!!!!!!

Journey to Malia:
6/9/10-filled out adoption agency application

7/28/10-completed homestudy with our social worker

9/2/10-homestudy approved by adoption agency

9/10/10-Mailed I-800A application to USCIS

10/26/10-fingerprinting at USCIS

11/1/10-Received approval from USCIS

12/1/10-locked Malia's file

12/2/10-LOI sent

12/13/10-Received preapproval from China!

12/23/10-Dossier to China!! Yippee!

12/29/10 LID

2/24/11 LOA (letter of acceptance from China)

2/25/11 I-800 sent via Fed-Ex

3/14/11 Received I-800 approval from the USCIS

3/18/11 The National Visa Center cabled our "stuff" to the consulate in Guangzhou, China

3/19/11 Mailed our DS-230 and our LSC packet to our adoption agency

3/25/11 Paperwork dropped off to US consulate in Guangzhou, China0

4/13/2011 Our Article 5 was delivered to the CCAA (Chinese government)

4/25/11 Travel Approval

5/23/11 Family Day (Malia forever in our arms)

5/31/11 Consulate Appointment

6/2/11 Our TRUE family day. Reunited with our 3 kiddos.
